Entries are open for this year’s KPMG Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards, which will once again recognise and reward excellence across the Irish property landscape. The shortlist across 11 categories will be announced on 17 October with the awards presentation to take place at a special ceremony on 6 November at the Convention Centre Dublin.

Now in its 10th year, KPMG Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards programme, which has been rewarding and celebrating excellence in Ireland’s property industry since 2015, is endorsed by all professional institutes, representative bodies and government agencies.
Both the independence and integrity of judging and commercial structure, with no sponsorship of any award category, means the awards are supported by the Irish property sector, as a whole. The awards align with UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goals 9, 11, and 13, by recognising industry efforts to boost sustainability, innovation, and climate action.
The Placemaking & Planning Award is one of 11 award categories and will be a key category in this year’s awards programme to recognise the outstanding use of planning in transforming or creating public spaces that enhance built heritage, quality of life and value to the environment.

Local authorities, planners, heritage and conservation experts, public and heritage bodies, private developers, contractors, architects and urban designers are invited to showcase their projects delivered through a clear, planning-led approach.
Whether it’s the revitalisation of a local amenity, the conservation or revitalisation of a historic place, or the creation of a vibrant new public realm, this award will honour projects that have achieved measurable improvements: socially, functionally, or aesthetically.
Winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony on 6 November in The Convention Centre Dublin – the biggest annual gathering of Ireland’s property sector, which attracts over 1,000 industry stakeholders each year.
The judging panel will be looking for:
- Planning-Led Approach – participative, plan-driven process
