COMMITTEE OF REGIONS VIRTUAL ASSISANT FOR ‘EU REGIONS WEEK 2025′

Dec 16, 2025 | European Focus

For the first time ever, the Committee of the Regions (CoR) deployed a virtual assistant during the European Week of Regions and Cities 2025, which took place in October in Brussels. The AI tool was designed to enhance the visibility and impact of CoR events, and the initiative builds on a pilot project to test innovative solutions for better engagement.

The ‘EURegionsWeek 2025’ Virtual Assistant at the Committee of the Regions is now live: regions-and-cities.cor-panoramic.eu. The European Regions Week 2025 featured over 200 events with policymakers, experts and citizens coming together to shape the future of Europe’s regions.

The 2025 edition focused on three key themes:

  • Cohesion and Growth for the Future
  • The Right to Stay
  • Cities Building Tomorrow

The AI tool has been developed by a European civic tech company and is built entirely on EU technologies and software. Its purpose is to help bridge the gap between citizens and institutions by translating complex subjects into clear, accessible information.

The new tool asks questions about key sessions and receives accurate answers based on filmed sessions and verified documents; explores ideas and themes discussed during each session; and quickly find specific parts of presentations without manual searching.

The virtual assistant does not create its own content; but rather provides reliable information from official sources while preserving context.
